(written on 9th of feb 2009)Title : Your future plans and general career aspirations after graduation from PMS/IMU Clinical School (typewritten, not exceeding 250 words and in Font 12)
Upon graduating, I will undertake the 2 year medical foundation training and will subsequently be able to register with the General Medical Council (GMC). I view these two years vital as I will be exposed to increasing levels of complexity and a setting vastly different from where I hail. It is my humble belief that through the systematic curriculum of the UK, I will build on my acquired knowledge and thrive as the program progresses.
By the end of the 2nd year of training, I will hope to have acquired competencies to start with my specialist training. At this moment in time,
surgery appeals to me and if given the opportunity to dwell in that area of specialization, that is a career path I will like to see myself in.
Not wanting to get too ahead of myself, I realize the importance of keeping an open mind, given, that the medical world is ever evolving. I hope that clinical years will paint me a clearer picture of which route best to pursue.
Lastly, while I appreciate the fact that one has a brilliant prospect in the UK, it is my wish to return to Malaysia soon as my family still resides there.
Oh you naive little boy
